Question

My boyfriend gave me a massive love bite. Even though I enjoyed it, it looks awful. How can I get rid of it quickly?

Answer

Since a love bite is basically a bruise there's no quick way to get rid of one. Applying an ice compress (cover the ice in something like a cloth) to the spot may help, but generally only if it's done straight away.

If it's on your neck and you're concerned about people seeing it, you could try covering it up with makeup or with a shirt collar or scarf, although this might not always be practical.

How long it'll take to disappear depends on your skin's sensitivity, as some people are more prone to bruising than others. Think about how long it usually takes for bruises to disappear on your body. The chances are it will have gone by a few days to a week.

If you don't want to have to deal with love bites again (or perhaps you don't mind having one as long as it's below your neck) then let your partner know. Remember, it's your body.
