CAB

Citizens Advice Bureaus (CAB) are independent registered charities providing free, independent, impartial and confidential advice to anyone who needs it, on a whole range of issues.

Advice is given in person, by telephone and in writing. There is a CAB presence in most towns in England and Wales, staffed mainly by highly trained volunteers.

CAB also uses its work to influence social policy, both locally and nationally, where injustice has been identified. All CAB belong to an umbrella organisation, the national association of Citizens Advice, which provides Bureaux with their extensive information system and undertakes regular audits to ensure quality and consistency of advice to clients.

Yare Valley and District CAB has three busy and very different offices covering urban, suburban and rural areas of Norfolk with long experience in giving email advice to young people through its own website, AskCAB. The site is designed for young people aged 13-25 who can either browse the site for information or, if they live in Norfolk, email the project for specific advice.
